Since meeting Liz Walker in 2011 while shooting one of her bands, Festive Flutes, we worked together on portraits and identity design for her other bands, Continuum, designed her website and most recently designed the logo, icon, website and a set of limited edition merchandise for her most recent projects, Flutes in Tuscany (flutesintuscany.co.uk).
The Logo
Liz’s husband dreamt a logo and sketched it with Microsoft Paint. Liz said if only there was a flute there somewhere! I started the design process with the sketch as well as taking inspiration from Tuscany’s colours and landscape and tried to incorporate a flute in the logo. After an A2 sheet full of ideas, I started developing some of these ideas on the computer and from a shortlist of 5 designs, Liz couldn’t decide between the two below so we decided to make one as the main logo and the second as an icon for 2018 to be used for limited edition merchandise to be gifted to early bird subscribers to the course.
The Website
The website is WordPress based and the design is a customisation of ‘Llorix One Lite’ theme by Themeisle.
